Solution Details

When attempting to modify the Item ID on the Item Naming page of the Project Releaser Options, all Item ID fields are grayed out and cannot be edited. This issue occurs even though the project has not yet been released to the Workspace.

The Item Naming fields become locked because the Items have already been created. When you click , the Items are automatically generated (you will see a confirmation message). Even if the data has not yet been released to the Workspace, these Items now exist, and their naming templates are finalized.

To regain control of the Item Naming fields, follow these steps to delete the existing Items and create new ones:

1. Open the Explorer Panel:
    - Navigate to your project in the Explorer panel (Classic View).

2. Delete the Items:
    - Locate and delete the planned Items associated with the project.

3. Return to the Project Releaser:
    - The Target Revision will now display as `<Deleted or Non-Accessible Vault Items>`.

4. Select New Items:
    - For each Target Revision, click on it and select the New Item option.

5. Modify Item Naming:
    - The Item Naming fields are now editable.

Note: If the project has already been released and you do not want to delete the existing content, you have two alternatives:

  1. Clone the Project (Make a Copy ...): Start over with a new release in a cloned project.

  2. Manually Create New Items: Create new Items manually and assign these as the new targets in the Project Releaser (Browse...).
