KB: Troubleshooting Missing Extensions in Altium Designer
Solution Details
Altium Designer's installation management system allows you to extend your installation at any time after the initial installation.
If Extensions are not appearing on the Purchased page when expected, consider the following potential causes:
1. Account Issues
You must be signed in to your Altium Account to view purchased extensions.
2. Visibility Settings
The Purchased but not installed option on the Purchased page filters out Extensions that have already been added to your installation.
3. Source Configuration and Installation Method
Your installation must be correctly configured to pull extensions from the right source. To verify:
- Click the settings icon at the top of the page. ![]()
- Navigate to System - Installation in the Preferences dialog.
- Check that the source of extensions and updates is properly set.
- If you used an Offline Installer, some extensions may not appear. To resolve this: Change the setting to Global installation service.
4. Required Services
Ensure the following Network Activities are enabled in the preferences:
- Altium Portal
- Global Update Service
5. Refresh the List
Click the refresh icon at the top right of the Purchased page to update the list of available extensions.
6. Platform Configuration
If Platform Extensions are missing such as ActiveRoute or Importer/Exporter, check if they are enabled in the Platform Configuration.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, further investigation may be needed regarding account or licensing problems. For more guidance, refer to:
